{Review & Giveaway} BabyBond Nursing Cover - WW

Nurse. Converse. Bond.  BabyBond Nursing Accessories Cover Mom, NOT her baby.

BabyBond is so awesome!! They sent me a BabyBond Flex Nursing Cover in size 2, Night.

BabyBond Flex:  Flex came rolled up nicely in a handy little pouch (as well as the other 2 covers come in with).  It is so easy to just roll the cover / sash and stick it right in the pouch.  Toss the pouch in the diaper bag or your purse and you're good to go! Literally, there is NO fuss or hassle with rolling the cover / sash and placing into the pouch.  I'm so happy for that or else I'd have to carry a pair of pliers with me ...Not cool ...

Another thing that the Flex came with was a removable 9 x 12″ double layer terry velour burp cloth that's so incredibly soft!  Colton doesn't spit up anymore but this does come in handy when he smiles and dribbles milk all over his big chubby cheeks =]

The BabyBond flex was hard for me to get used to at first.  I kept switching the sash around and ended up having to redo the whole ordeal because I placed the sash over the wrong shoulder.  But after a few tries, I became a pro, or so I think!  I chose the Flex because I know how to nurse in public with a shirt on that I can discreetly pull up and feed Colton.  But, I have some shirts where its just easier to pull the top down and nurse him ... at home, until now!  I needed something to cover up my breast while nursing Colton in a "pull down" shirt.  Once you get a hang of the idea,  you place the sash on over the opposite shoulder you want to nurse from, unhook bra, pull shirt down, pull top layer of BabyBond fabric up, bottom layer down and latch the baby on.  During the whole session, your shirt is basically still covering up your back AND belly.  SCORE!

We just got back from the beach and I got BURNT!!! I'm typically NOT this lobster Looking! Ha ..
Okay, but back to the BabyBond Flex, I was just starting to get a hang of the idea here.

And Colton just woke up from a much needed nap <3

BabyBond Original:  BabyBond original is pretty much the same exact idea as the BabyBond Flex EXCEPT that ... the burp cloth is attached.

BabyBond Couture:   This one is my favorite but since I know how to discreetly nurse from the bottom of my shirt, I figured this wouldn't put me to much use.  With the Couture, you can wear it around your belly, covering it up, lift up shirt, and nurse.  Or you can wear it just like a sash just as the Original and Flex.  You can tie the BabyBond Couture to adjust to your size and this nursing cover is very versatile and flexible!  The Couture is One Sized and comes in more colors.

Washing:  Washing is super easy.  I just toss in with my regular laundry.  Nothing special at all!

Sizing:  With the BabyBond Original and Flex, they come in sizes.  Here is the Easy to follow chart:

I got a size 2 and they are right on the money.  The fit is perfect!

Price:  Each cover is $35.  This will make a GREAT baby shower gift in my honest opinion!  The BabyBond is such a wonderful idea!

Rating:  4/5  I just had a little getting used to at the very beginning.

Buy it:  You should check out BabyBond online and take a look around.  During checkout, enter PASSIONS for a 25% discount off your order!!!

Breastfeeding & Pumping

When Chayden was first born, I got a FREE $300 Medela Automatic Breastpump in the hospital.  Insurance covered it, but thats beyond the point.  Got home.  Settled in.  Chayden was an amazing nurser!  He never fussed or fought.  Thing is, it took him 45 minutes for a session to end.  Once he turned 4 weeks old, I nervously decided to take the Medela Breastpump out and .... pump.  I sat there.  10 minutes go by.  Nothing but 1/2 oz all together between both breasts.  Dang dude.  Really?  Okay, lets be patient. I remember sitting in the corner, in the lay-z-boy chair.  Relaxing. Pumping.  1 hour went by. No joke.  I was thinking that this was impossible because I got about 2 oz. all together.  But I saved it.  I did the pumping session again the next day.  I did it every day for about 2 weeks and got about 10 baggies with 2 oz in them.  *frowny face*  I said, literally, "This damn thing sucks! It ain't working!  I hope I don't have to use it again! BROKEN piece of $%^#". Meh. Luckily I never ever used expressed milk.  But from that point forward, I hand expressed during nap times and got much more milk out.  I ended up saving about 3 oz a day from hand expression done several times a day.  What an exhausting experience.

4 1/2 yrs pass. Colton is born (8 Months ago from now).  I lie there in the hospital bed.  The midwife comes in and says, "So, will you be pumping as well?"  I said, "Oh no. I have the Medela Pump from almost 5 years ago and it doesn't work. Is there anywhere that I can bring it?  I never got anything and never felt it work on me with Chayden."
She looked puzzled and told me to just ship it to Medela or Have a lactation consultant look at it.  Ha. I don't Have time for that.  So I ended up saying in the end, "I won't pump this time around.  I never had to use pumped milk with Chayden and I don't think I'll have to use it this time around either.  I'm fine."
We got home from the hospital days later and Bobby is on the couch trying to figure out why this Pump had zero suction.  Why I never felt it when it was on the highest volume and highest pressure.  Why I never got anything good out of it.  We have NO idea what he did but Bobby got the thing to work!  We childishly placed the horns on our hands, tummy, etc  .. to feel the intense suction!  Colton was 2 1/2 weeks old I believe so I decided,  Let me give this a shot.  Let me pump for giggles and see how it goes.
5 minutes and 8 oz later, I was flabbergasted! I felt like I just won an award! I was addicted!  I loved it!  I pumped from that point forward a few times a day.  3x's a day.  8 oz in 5 minutes each time!  The freezer was stock full within weeks to the point that it was impossible to grocery shop.  I ended up having to wean myself from pumping. LOL.
We had used a bottle of pumped milk for Colton a few times when Bobby and I went out on a date.  We had tossed several bags too because it was past its freezer life.  But, I do not pump anymore.  I'm sure I can if need be.  And I will start back up because I thaw one bag a day for Colton to drink in a sippy cup.  We're getting pretty low.  Time to break the pump out again!  Dust it off and relax <3

Sunday Blog Hop Shibley Smiles

I really DON'T LIKE Rafflecopter

I have an email specifically set for emails that need to be seen THAT day and responded to quickly.  There has been ZERO spam in that email for er ... 4 years now?  I fill out one of those Rafflecopter Forms, and the next day I get 50 spam!  (I get about 100 a day now ...) Coincidence? No?  I think yes.  I know its a trial thing for now but I refuse to fill those out from now on.  Spam city! IMO at least ...
Is anybody else having troubles with Rafflecopter?

---------------

ps.  I just talked to the founder of Rafflecopter.  I did say I don't like the Rafflecopter forms in the title (talking about spam, specifically), but I do love how its simply easy and fun to use.  I'm just "errrrr" about the whole idea.  I am going to make a new email account and fill out a few Rafflecopter forms and see if that one gets spam.  I HOPE not because Rafflecopter is easy to use.  The best idea out there!!!  ... If there is no annoying spam ... Ha

Breastfeeding & The Daddy

This is a blog hop.  Click the button to join in!

When I was 20, I became pregnant with Chayden.  The whole time I said I was NOT going to breastfeed.  I mean, who does that disgusting thing?  Boobs are NOT for feeding.  I mean, my mom only nursed me for 2 weeks and still bitched about it to this day about how disgusting and degrading it is.  I told my dad this and he said, "Well no, I thought you were suppose to breastfeed for a year, and one year only? Maybe you should look into it."  Through all of this, my "boyfriend" {now my husband} agreed with me.  We both agreed to the stupidity of what my mom said.  *shrugs*  Thank goodness for my dad!  The whole 1 year thing is completely wrong {22 months for Chayden!} but totally understandable.  =]
With that, I borrowed a book from my SIL, who got the book from HER SIL.  At the time my SIL had a 2 month old, was breastfeeding and LOVED it.  She gave me the book {its been 5years so I forgot what book it was.  Pink Cover.  Cartoony pic of Mother nursing baby on rocking chair?}  The book was addicting!  I could NOT put it down!  I loved reading all the info.  I quickly changed my mind.  I told Bobby how I wanted to try nursing and my plan was, 2 weeks tops.  He agreed.  We were young.  Thats not an excuse but we didn't have support either.  NONE.  His mom said no to breastfeeding because nobody else would be able to feed the baby, ... you know, all them lame excuses.
Well, Chayden arrived.  2 weeks past his due date. Thank you veeeeeeery much!  He latched on strong.  We had zero issues.  2 weeks past.  2 months past.  6 month mark.  I'm totally addicted!  Do I really have to start introducing foods?   Bobby was so supportive and LOVED every minute of me nursing Chayden.   We had no idea we would love this as much as we did.  I fed, Bobby gave baths.  He still does to this day.  Thats our routine.  Now my husband is to the point of  "shame on you for not even trying breastfeeding! *shakes head*"  He at first with Chayden, Bobby totally said never past 1 year.  But I nursed for 22 months with full support and my ONLY support from my husband.  He stood up for me when people looked at me like I was in the wrong, to family, friends & strangers.  My husband prepares Colton for nursing by grabbing a blanket, swaddling him next to my breast & sitting right next to me or keeping Chayden busy.
I could NOT ask for a better support system.   Now we say, lets breastfeed for as long as possible thank you very much <3
During the breastfeeding months / years, Dad can do a TON!  Baths, feed solids, cook, clean, keep older children busy, change clothes, change diapers, etc etc ... I mean, you can always resort to pumping.  Which, I did and I have tons of unused milk.  But nothing has changed.  My husband works all the time so he is never home for a bottle feeding anyways even if I WERE just bottle feeding.  So in reality, all of these lame sobbing tears of "oh the dad wont be able to feed the baby and bond" is bull crap!  Bonding includes baths, snuggling, playing, kisses, reading a book, etc ... I'm sure you can find about 10+ more bonding techniques.

Opening Up a Shop

Not now, not now!  Bobby got me a sewing machine.  I will be making cloth diapers, nursing pads, mama pads / menstrual pads, diaper bags / purses, blankets, bibs, etc etc ... I will start with a little bit at a time and keep adding.  I honestly don't know what to call my shop / store.  I had been daydreaming for several days now.  I still need help in finding a name.
Lawless seems to come to mind.
The prints of my items will be bright, bold, funky, modern, some retro, artistic, eye catching, ...
I want to see a name that will suit all sorts of items from a baby boy in a diaper to a grown woman carrying an oversized purse.
My first order of fabrics are coming in the mail.  I have several things to make for my kids / friends' until I start selling.  I hope this works out.  Knowing me, I always tend to want to do something but find things that stand in the way.  I better get good use of this sewing machine because I miss sewing.  It reminds me of the time when I used to sew EVERYTHING when I was younger.  Nobody could talk to me or bother me.  I would stay up for hours and just make clothes, purses, etc.  It was my "zone" and I could never hear a single soul speak to me.  =]
I will keep this updated with my thoughts and progress. =]

& The Melts / Truffles I received!

Hello ladies {& gents!}  Its been a while since I hosted a giveaway or ran a review.  I've been very busy with the kids {sports, school, etc ...}.  To relax at the end of the night from a crazy day,  I love to dunk myself in a nice, hot bath.  Whats better than a plain bath of bubbles?  Rich, Silky relaxation with Bodycare Luxuries on Etsy.  I got to speak to Elina, who is the maker / owner {& new mommy so CONGRATS!} of Bodycare Luxuries and she was so awesome to send me some samples to review! I received two packages.  Some Truffles & Melts.  No seriously, wouldn't you want to slip into a sexy bath of bath truffles or bath melts?  I bet it sounds so good!  I loved the Rose Bath Truffles and the Jasmine Sandalwood Bath Melts so much!  You just drop one in the tub and within a few minutes, you're ready to indulge.  I like to lie in the tub and rub the oils in my skin before bed.  My skin is so soft all night, until through the next day.  My skin smells amazing as well!  Ask my husband, the bathroom smelled wonderful too.

What was so darling, was that the little flower petals just floated around the tub.  They easily went down the drain and did nothing to disturb the plumbing.  LOL.  No seriously.  These are perfect!  Such a treat to anybody.  I can see if you have especially dry skin.  These melts and truffles will soothe your skin!
